We are seeking applications for a full-time academic position, at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, to develop a vigorous, independent, basic or clinical research program in an area related to Epilepsy. The successful clinician scientist candidate will focus on basic translational research in Epilepsy. An advanced degree in basic/translational research training and demonstrated commitment to research in areas related to epileptogenesis and disease mechanisms are essential. The successful clinical researcher candidate will focus on areas related to Health Outcomes Research in Epilepsy. An advanced degree with research training in clinical epidemiology and demonstrated commitment to research in areas related to Health Outcomes Research and Analytics are essential. The ability to establish an independent research program as demonstrated by a portfolio of scholarly work is also required.
Clinical qualifications include an MD, a specialist certificate in Neurology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or be eligible to attain this certification, and eligibility for licensure in the Province of Alberta. The candidate must be certified in EEG by the CSCN, and have formal training in the management of patients with complex epilepsies seen at a tertiary care centre, including ICU and continuous EEG monitoring, pre-surgical evaluation, proficiency and experience with various modalities of intracranial EEG planning and interpretation, ECoG, and cortical stimulation for function mapping. We are seeking an individual with proven clinical excellence and a record of working well within a team.
The candidate must be eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
