Neurologist and Quality Improvement Leader

The Division of Neurology is seeking a Neurologist to provide expertise and leadership to the Division in the area of Quality Improvement. The successful candidate must have an MD and a specialist certificate in Neurology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and an advanced degree in Quality Improvement. The successful candidate will be expected to participate fully in the neurology call schedule and in outpatient general neurology clinics. The key academic expectation will be development of a program of quality improvement for the Division of Neurology.
We are seeking an individual with proven clinical excellence, a record of working well within a team, and leadership potential. A portfolio of work in quality improvement is required. The candidate must be eligible for licensure as a neurologist in Alberta.
This position is funded by the Alberta Academic Medicine and Health Services Program (AAMHSP). The amount of time protected for QI projects and research will be determined based on the candidate. The position will be based at South Health Campus and will provide clinical services at South Health Campus and Rockyview General Hospital. The successful candidate will be a member of the Division of Neurology and be an active participant within the Department of Clinical Neurosciences (www.ucalgary.ca/dcns). They will be a member of the University of Calgary Medical Group and be expected to have an academic appointment with the University of Calgary, Cumming School of Medicine.
This is an AAMHSP position. AAMHSP remuneration is expected to be $395,000-$420,000 per annum.
The successful candidate will be a member of the University of Calgary Medical Group which provides billing services, transcription, academic clerical support, and offers opportunities for other academic opportunities including sabbaticals and travel grants.
Specialist on call payments will be in the range of $7,000-$8,000 per annum.
