The Section of Pediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM) in the Department of Paediatrics (http://www.ucalgary.ca/paed) invite applications for a fee-for-service PEM physician at the Clinical lecturer or above, to join our clinical PEM team.
The 127 bed Alberta Children’s Hospital (ACH) opened in 2006 followed by the adjacent Child Development Centre and Rotary Flames House Hospice. The Emergency Department has state-of-the-art resuscitation, procedure and patient care areas, including dedicated spaces for education and human patient simulation. The Section of Pediatric Emergency Medicine has an annual census of greater than 77,000 patients cared for at ACH and over 14,000 patients seen in the South Health Campus ED. The ED provides tertiary care and trauma services to the pediatric patients in Southern Alberta, SE British Columbia and SW Saskatchewan, a catchment area of approximately 2.5 million people. The Department of Paediatrics has over 300 clinical and academic faculty members who are part of the Cumming School of Medicine at the University of Calgary.
