The Department of Pediatrics is seeking a fulltime clinical allergist-immunologist to join a growing section. The Section is currently heavily focused on the assessment and management of complex primary immune deficiency and expertise in this clinical domain is essential, however we hope to develop an academic clinical allergy service so interest in this area would be an asset. The Section of Allergy Immunology works closely with the Sections of Hematology, Rheumatology and Infectious Diseases as well as the Section of Marrow and Stem Cell Transplant. We are a leading bone marrow Transplant Centre in Canada having offered stem cell transplant to several children with Primary Immune Deficiency syndromes in the last 3 years. The Section is supported by an outstanding clinical laboratory.
The position would involve 70% clinical activity with 30% protected time for scholarly work in Education and/or Research.
Qualifications of the applicants include an MD, with specialty certification in Pediatrics and in Clinical Immunology/Allergy from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or equivalent. Eligibility for medical licensure in the province of Alberta is required.
