The Department of Critical Care Medicine at the University of Alberta is a growing research-focused Department, currently consisting of 10 primarily appointed and 5 cross appointed Geographic Full-time Faculty and greater than 40 Clinical Faculty. Research spans the spectrum from laboratory-based experimental and translational work through epidemiology, clinical trials, and health services research in all aspects of Critical Care Medicine. The Department considers education a high priority and provides leadership to the educational and administrative activities of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, Alberta Health Services, the Alberta Medical Association, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and to the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
