The University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, in partnership with Alberta Health Services (AHS) invites applicants to apply for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor, Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition within the Department of Pediatrics. The position is for an academic clinician.

The position will join a division of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition which is comprised of 8 pediatric gastroenterologists and a multi-disciplinary health care team who primarily provide clinician care at the Stollery Children’s Hospital providing consultative service throughout the Edmonton Zone facilities. The division provides complete GI, hepatology/liver and intestinal transplant and nutritional services to an expansive referral area including central and northern Alberta, northern British Columbia and the Northwest Territories. The Stollery Children’s Hospital is the Western Canadian pediatric liver and intestinal transplant referral centre.

The division is recruiting an individual who will have a strong clinician scholar, 60% clinical/40% academic scholarship, of clinical research and teaching. Expertise in IBD and training in bowel ultrasound and advanced academic training is desirable.

Interested applicants must have an MD and have completed a fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology/Nutrition and be certified or eligible to become a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (Pediatrics). RCPS(C) Pediatric Gastroenterology certified or ABP certification would be an additional asset.

Remuneration for this position will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and will be based on the income scale of a competitive academic alternate funding plan.


This position is not sponsorship eligibile.
