Covenant Health, in partnership with Alberta Health Services and the University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, Department of Medicine, invites applications for a 0.2 FTE Endocrinologist to be based at the Misericordia Community Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta.

Located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, the Faculty has been internationally recognized as among the world’s top 50 medical schools and as one of Canada’s premier health-education institutions. Alberta Health Services is Canada’s largest and only provincial health region providing services for a population of over 4.2 million people.

Covenant is Canada’s largest Catholic provider of health care, with 26 Catholic facilities in 15 communities across Alberta. As a major provider in Alberta’s integrated health system, the Covenant family (Covenant Health, Covenant Care, and Covenant Living) works with Alberta Health Services and community partners to positively influence the health of Albertans through a broad range of programs and services in our hospitals, health centres and continuing care centres.

This is a 0.2FTE position. The successful candidate will provide Endocrinology consults in hospital one day per week, while maintaining a community-based practice and will also work in the General Internal Medicine service at the Misericordia.

The successful candidate will have an MD degree or equivalent, with completed training in Endocrinology and will be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta. The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons FRCPC (Endocrinology) is required.

The successful applicant will be expected to apply for a Clinical Academic Colleague Appointment in the Department of Medicine, University of Alberta, which will be considered under a separate process through the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry.

Remuneration will be based on the Fee-for-Service (FFS) schedule.
