The University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, Department of Medicine, Division of Neurology in partnership with Alberta Health Services, invites applications for a Hospitalist/Internist to be based at the University of Alberta Hospital. Located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, the Faculty has been internationally recognized as among the world's top 50 medical schools and as one

of Canada's premier health-education institutions. The University of Alberta Hospital is a quaternary care facility in Edmonton Alberta associated with the University of Alberta. The Neurology service at UAH admits patients with complex neurological and medical problems including stroke, Guillain-Barre syndrome, MS, epilepsy and neurodegenerative disorders. Hospitalist/Internist inpatient participation and supervision of the complex medical management of patients with neurological disorders after completion of their acute neurological care is carried out at UAH. Hospitalist/internist physicians to participate in and supervise the delivery of this care are required.

The successful candidate will have an MD degree, or equivalent. He or she will be eligible to be certified in Internal Medicine with the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada. As well, he or she will be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA). Key accountabilities of the Hospitalist/Internist will include, but will not be limited to inpatient care of patients for 26-24 weeks yearly, participation in after-hours call coverage, provision of internal medicine consultation on the Neurology ward and reporting to the Division of Neurology, and Division of General Internal Medicine.The successful applicant will be eligible to apply for a Clinical Academic Colleague Appointment in the Department of Medicine, University of Alberta, which will be considered under a separate process through the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry.

Remuneration will be based on the Fee-for-Service (FFS) schedule.
