2018-10-15  Time: 8:00
AHS is recruiting for this position.
AHS Sponsorship for CPSA Practice Readiness Assessment is not offered for this position.

Covenant Health, in partnership with Alberta Health Services and the University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, invite applications for a Family Medicine Physician to join a dynamic PCHT team at the Misericordia Community Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta.

Covenant is Canada’s largest Catholic provider of health care, with 26 Catholic facilities in 15 communities across Alberta. As a major provider in Alberta’s integrated health system, the Covenant family (Covenant Health, Covenant Care, and Covenant Living) works with Alberta Health Services and community partners to positively influence the health of Albertans through a broad range of programs and services in our hospitals, health centres and continuing care centres.

The successful applicant will have an MD, certification from the College of Family Physicians of Canada, and unrestricted licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a Family Physician with existing community based family practice to work with our PCHT Team to deliver care and consultation services to patients at the Misericordia Community Hospital. Scheduling would entail 1:8 or approximately 6 weeks per year. The successful applicant should be comfortable with acute care of the elderly patient with multiple co-morbidities. An interest in participating in various hospital committees and sharing some hospital administrative duties would be a definite asset.

The successful applicant will be encouraged to apply for a Clinical Faculty Appointment in the Department of Family Medicine, University of Alberta, which will be considered under a separate process through the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, Department of Family Medicine.

Remuneration will be based on the Fee-for-Service (FFS) schedule as well as a daily stipend through AHS/Covenant Health.

Interested persons who meet the above qualifications should forward their curriculum vitae and the names and contact information of three references to:
