The successful candidate will join General Pediatricians providing a full spectrum of clinical general consultation and in-patient services. In addition to clinical care, the division is active in teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and has a fully accredited Pediatric training program through the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. We have an active basic and clinical science program, collaborating locally, nationally, and internationally.
The successful candidate will be the primary lead for Northeast Community Health Centre (NECHC) Child Health Clinic Plan for comprehensive care services, expand the refugee pediatric clinic and P-KIC (foster care) services to Northeast Edmonton, and enhance engagement with Northeast Edmonton Schools. The successful candidate will also have responsibilities for clinical service (6 weeks per year at the Stollery Children’s Hospital), CTU preceptor for MRP inpatient care of CTU patients, and education of multilevel learners, and working with a multidisciplinary team at the NECHC, as well as outreach clinics.
The successful candidate will be a pediatrician with a minimum of 5 years clinical experience in the area of general pediatrics, training and experience to be the MRP for tertiary/quaternary care, and experience providing general pediatric inpatient at the Stollery Children’s Hospital. The candidate should have a history of having demonstrated the necessary interpersonal skills to successfully collaborate with academic and community colleagues.
Interested applicants must hold an MD, have accredited pediatric specialty training by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and be eligible for licensure with CPSA. The candidate must be certified or eligible to become a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
