Covenant Health, in partnership with Alberta Health Services and the University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, Department of Pediatrics, invites applications for a General Pediatrician to be based primarily at the Misericordia Community Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta.

In collaboration with their colleagues, the successful candidates will deliver inpatient care and consultation services to hospital patients. These positions participate in the program’s on-call in-patient schedule while maintaining a community-based practice.

Covenant is Canada’s largest Catholic provider of health care, with 26 Catholic facilities in 15 communities across Alberta. As a major provider in Alberta’s integrated health system, the Covenant family (Covenant Health, Covenant Care, and Covenant Living) works with Alberta Health Services and community partners to positively influence the health of Albertans through a broad range of programs and services in our hospitals, health centres and continuing care centres.

The successful candidate must be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta and must be appointed to the Edmonton Zone Medical Staff. The successful candidate will be eligible to be certified by the RCPS of Canada in the specialty of pediatrics. An interest in community pediatrics or subspecialty training in areas aligned with community pediatrics activities is preferred.

The successful applicant will be expected to apply for a Clinical Faculty Appointment in the Department of Pediatrics, University of Alberta, which will be considered under a separate process through the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry.

Remuneration will be based on the Fee-for-Service (FFS) schedule.
