Pediatrician – Learning and Development

Alberta Health Services, Departments of Addiction & Mental Health and Child Health in partnership with the University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, Department of Psychiatry, and Pediatrics is inviting applications from pediatricians with expertise in Developmental Pediatrics.

Alberta Health Services is Canada’s largest and only province-wide health service provider, providing care for more than 3 million people. Our multi-disciplinary teams consisting of nursing, psychiatry, psychology, occupational therapy, social work, education, and speech language pathology provide education and assistance for more than 1.2 million people in Edmonton and surrounding areas.

This is a part time position 0.2-0.4 FTE where the physician will work within a multi-disciplinary team that includes a child psychiatrist, developmental pediatricians, psychologists, nurses, social workers and occupational therapists. The clinic provides assessment and short-term treatment for school-aged children with learning difficulties co-occuring with mental health concerns that impede the child's ability to succeed in their school setting. The clinic works closely with school jurisdictions and family physicians to facilitate transitioning from the clinic back to primary care and classroom settings.

Candidates must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and have additional certification or experience in Developmental Pediatrics. Candidates must also be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
