DynaLIFE Medical Labs is currently looking to fill a full-time, permanent position at the QEII, 10409 98 St, Grande Prairie, Alberta.

The selected candidate will join a group of general and anatomical pathologists, medical microbiologists and clinical chemists providing community and hospital laboratory services for metropolitan and rural locations within Alberta, the Northwest Territories, Nunavut and other Provinces and communities.

DynaLIFE Medical Labs, has been providing laboratory and diagnostic services to Albertans for more than 50 years. We are a privately owned laboratory with approximately 1100 employees at 36 sites across Northern Alberta. We perform over 14 million laboratory tests per year. We have 30+ medical professionals working collaboratively to support our base laboratory located in our beautiful facility in downtown Edmonton as well as several laboratories located in rural locations.

Queen Elizabeth II (QEII) Regional Hospital

The QEII Regional Hospital is a 160 bed acute care facility with a busy emergency department, ICU, NICU and specialty services in OB/Gyn, orthopedic surgery, general surgery, ophthalmology, ENT, urology, palliative care, pediatrics, and psychiatry; hosting over 10,000 discharges, approximately 60,000 emergency department visits, over 1,700 deliveries and more than 15,000 surgical procedures annually.

A new larger Grande Prairie Regional Hospital is currently under construction and is on schedule to open late in 2019, increasing the capacity to provide services to the people of Northwestern Alberta and Northeastern BC.

The Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Grande Prairie is an acute care facility with 24-hour emergency services, an intensive care and neonatal intensive care unit. Services are provided in obstetrics, orthopedic surgery, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, palliative care, pediatrics, psychiatry, and urology.

Alberta is a vibrant and economically strong province with a low tax rate. Grande Prairie is the seventh-largest city in Alberta with a population 75,397! The city has a number of parks, golf courses, excellent bike trails extending nearly the entire length of Bear Creek within the city of Grande Prairie. In the northeast part of the city there is parkland, preserved wetlands (great for bird watching), and walking/bike paths around the entire site. Summer-long music festivals have been organized by community-minded individuals and charitable organizations. Cross-country skiing, a ski hill and snowmobiling are popular activities during the winter in the Grande Prairie area. The hospital services the surrounding communities, and offers a full complement of surgical and community care.

Candidates must be fluent in English and have or be eligible to acquire their Canadian Fellowship in their respective discipline and must qualify for licensure in Alberta. Additional training or experience in one or more pathology subspecialties would be an asset.

Remuneration is generous and in line with the Alberta Medical Association negotiated grid for pathologists. ($353,874 - $411,650 annually) Benefits include general and CME leave and there is a flexible work system.
